When Holly and Dan reached out to me, they expressed a love for my style of photography which is a blend of natural candid moments and editorial imagery. After getting to know them; how they first met and what they like to do together, I knew it was going to be a fun experience. They expressed a love for exploring urban spaces, having cocktails together and a love for music. We landed on Detroit as the ideal backdrop for their engagement session!

It wouldn't be a photo shoot without embracing the vibes and the colours of The Belt alley, grabbing a cocktail at the skip and of course a couple of photo bombs along the way. It wouldn't be Detroit without the people after all!

We also made sure to grab some photos in front of the Fox Theatre, danced down Columbia St. and finished our shoot with a roof top sunset.

These two are the real deal! And if you loved their engagement photos, don't miss their November roof top wedding in Windsor, Ontario, absolutely amazing!

I cannot believe it's taken me this long to blog these gorgeous photos from Mallory + Saman's engagement session!! It was such a beautiful, colourful, fun session and the chemistry between these two is just gold. We met at Malden Park an hour before the sun set to get that gorgeous glow that you see in the end of the session.

When I showed up at Mallory + Saman's house for their initial meeding we both realized we already knew each other! Funny enough, Mallory was one of my son's teachers when he was in kindergarten!! How small is this world? Anyways, I like to think they booked me based on my skills and not my cute son haha, but here's the thing, a big part of booking a photographer is the connection. Two things I tell people: 1) you need to be love the work and find feeling in the images and 2) find a connection with the photographer.

I'm going to let you in on something you may not realize. We as photographers are looking for those same two things! We don't want to book every wedding, believe it or not, we want to book clients who connect with us and with our work. This symbiotic relationship is what is going to maximize your experience. If we both feel connected, you will be comfortable being yourself, and I will feel comfortable to create my best work.

So back to Mallory + Saman - these two nailed their session! Do you see the beautiful quality of light? When the sun is on its way down, it is softer, creating gentle shadows and a warm glow. Golden!

Ashley + Joey's engagement session was fun, adventurous and full of a sweet forever type of love.

Hillman Marsh was the perfect location for this engagement session. Beautiful Essex county nature, complete with a gorgeous fall sunset. Their wedding is one of my first this coming Spring and reflecting on their engagement session gives me an excitement for this coming season! Ashley and Joey are such a gorgeous couple with such a fun and loving relationship! I know their wedding in May is going to be nothing short of perfect.

I'm trying not to rush my excitement because winter gives us the rest and character we need to come back strong in the Spring!

I met Kelsey a few years ago when I photographed her sister's Wedding. I fell inlove with their wonderful big happy family, so you can imagine how excited I was when she asked to meet with me to discuss her own wedding. After meeting Rami and seeing them together, I knew this was going to be a great partnership! They are so in-love and so wonderful together.

For their engagement we seized the day and despite the rain did a little tour of some great local spots. First stop was Anchor Coffee House for coffee and cozy, then to Sweet Revenge for cupcakes (spoiler alert: Kelsey was employed at Sweet Revenge) and then finished off at F&B Walkerville for a moody vibe and some cocktails.

Kelsey & Rami are currently living in Los Angeles as Rami works there. So they are staying warm while us Canadians experience the current polar vortex. Their wedding will be this September on Kelsey's family's farm. Make sure to keep your eye out for that one! It's going to be a beauty.

Make sure to head on over to Instagram and follow this three: @anchorcoffeehouse // @sweetrevengebakeshop // @fandbwalkerville Make sure to tell them you found them by visiting Emma Davidson Photo's blog!

Hope you're all staying warm!

Today is the first day of school for my kidlets and sending them of to school in September makes me dream about cooler days. Reality is... it's 109 degrees Fahrenheit with the humidity... bah... gross. So here's a cooler day with a beautiful couple to make everyone feel better!

Lee & Marie-Michelle's engagement session was back in May and it's still one of my favourites from this season. They are so effortless with one another and I loved spending time with them and their lovely pup Jasmine! There was a slight bite to the air which me have all of the heart-eyes over this session right now!

Just a few more weeks until this adorable couple ties the knot over at the Windsor Club! Can't wait to celebrate with you both!
